The Timeless looking Videogames

Time is the ultimate yardstick for everything that exists which means something is truly and unquestioningly great when it can stand the test of time. And even in the rapidly evolving World of Videogame Visuals, there are five games that still stand out as some of the most graphically rich experiences even after close to a decade of their release, thereby proving that if made with enough Love and Care, some things can indeed transcend time. So without further ado, here are the timeless looking Videogames that haven't aged at all and can still look better than most games released even in 2024.    And instead of writing in lengths about how phenomenal their visuals are, I'll just post lots of in-game screenshots and let the images do all the talking. After all, a picture speaks a thousand words.   5. Batman: Arkham Knight (2015):    Hard to believe this game actually came out over 9 years ago...   If there's ever a game that showcases jus...

The Next Crysis...

The name ‘Crysis’ gets largely associated as a glorified tech marvel, a showcase for the most expensive and extravagant graphics hardware of the 2007-2015 era, but what often gets overlooked is that the Crysis series of games also stand out as some of the most innovative and genre-redefining experiences in the history of First Person Shooters. In fact Crysis, a game that was released waay back in 2007, is still unsurpassed when it comes to the sheer interactivity and gameplay possibilities that you can get out of an FPS, sounds unbelievable but true. Even in the age of full Path Tracing and all the other technological breakthroughs of today, Videogames haven’t really evolved as much as the corporate-industry-juggernaut would have us believe, especially in terms of pure gameplay. The Crysis sequels succeeded in bringing the core gameplay theme to a much more smaller and tighter scale, while still retaining a significant chunk of the gameplay variety. And this is how ...

The Best Crysis Game

The name ‘Crysis’ has become sort of a symbol for intensive graphical benchmarks, a behemoth of visual supremacy that has echoed throughout vastly different timelines (from 2007 to post 2020 with it’s Remastered releases) with an almost nail-biting, ‘Can-it-run-Crysis?’ frenzy. But this excessive focus on it’s graphical fidelity also obscures the fact that the Crysis games are indeed some of the most innovative shooters in the history of Videogames in general, by offering a massive amount of freedom and creative gameplay expressions that you just won’t get in the majority of shooters the genre has seen. When you take into account all of it’s facets and not just the ahead-of-it’s-time visuals, Crysis is truly a franchise that excelled in all the yardsticks of it’s genre, more so than most others could ever come close, even to this day. And to celebrate this truly ahead of it’s time (both in terms of Graphics and Gameplay) series of games, this article will be an in-...

A Crysis in Wasted Opportunities

It was 2009 when I bought Crysis, because my hardware was not capable enough to run the game when it came out in 2007. After 5 minutes of starting the game, I knew I had made the right choice. Crysis was an amazing experience unlike any other fps I had played and I'm not just talking about the ultra realistic graphics. After the initial tutorial when the game told me to disable a jammer in the huge & lush environments of the Lingshan island, giving me ample freedom to do it as I see fit, I knew I was in for a treat. I loved every second of the campaign. I have played many great fps's over the years but Crysis was the only one I replayed almost a dozen times, and got the same amount of fun every single time. The lush open environments, the sandbox gameplay, the brilliant & sometimes downright cunning A.I and the versatile suit functions created an "emergent" element that was both unpredictable & fresh. The realism offered by Cryengine 2, I...
