U2 Songs of Experience Review: Experience the U2-Lite

I first heard U2 in their How to dismantle an Atomic Bomb album which was a turning point in my life cause that album and it's phenomenal guitar work opened the door for me to the entire genre of Electric Guitar music and many great musicians that I’ve heard since then. It’s not any way an understatement when I say that hearing HTDAAB was a huge turning point in my Life. And after that, I had heard many other U2 albums, live concert DVDs, and eventually became a huge fan of the band. For me, their music represented aspects such as--hopeful and poetic lyrics, a distinct and fresh, wavy rock-n-roll sound and of course, the Edge’s slick-cut-anthemic guitar soundscape. These are what made me love U2’s sound in the first place and from HTDATB to their early albums, their guitar driven yet distinctly characteristic sound had always shined through. In all those years, in my eyes, U2 has been that band that made consistently fresh music while also managing to cater to a

Why Vegeta may never surpass Goku

Disclaimer: This article does not aim to take anything away from Vegeta as a powerhouse or as an overall great character. I am a fan of Vegeta as well and I believe he is one of the greatest and most developed characters in the Dragonball series. Rather, this article focuses on the fundamental differences between both Goku and Vegeta as fighters and how that affects the possiblitity of Vegeta ever surpassing Goku. And this is not about power levels either, as Vegeta can very well attain the Ultra-Instinct transformation in future as well. But it’s really not about how much raw power they have, it’s about who is the better fighter or who has more innate talent for fighting--this is what I think makes the most difference, cause their power levels are always pretty close to each other. Alright, since the title of this article is a hugely divisive claim, let me cut to the chase real quick and we’ll get to the explanation part later. So, the sole reason why I believ

The Greatest David Gilmour Live Solos

David Gilmour belongs to the rare pantheon of Guitar Players who can make an already incredible studio solo way better in a live concert. And that fact alone makes him one of the greatest guitar players in history, period.    There are lots of great players who excel in improvising on their studio recordings, but there are very few who can match Gilmour, who makes most of his studio solos almost sound like b-side versions when performing a live rendition of that same solo. The incredible live versions of Comfortably Numb, Sorrow, Echoes among others are testaments to this fact.    And his upcoming live concert film/album David Gilmour Live at Pomepei is also guaranteed to have some phenomenal solos that easily top their studio versions. So to celebrate another incredible live offering from Gilmour, here’s a list of some of the greatest live solos he has played throughout the decades, both in and out of Pink Floyd. While compiling this list, the main cr

Wishlist of Fights in the Tournament of Power

The ongoing Tournament of Power has opened up a huge sandbox of possibilities when it comes to jaw-dropping fights in Dragon Ball Super. With Powerhouses like Hit from Universe 6, Goku, Golden Frieza and Vegeta from Universe 7, Toppo and Jiren from Universe 11 locked in an all-out battle royal, it’s obvious that they will engage with each other, sooner or later. But what’s more interesting is who they will be fighting with, and this is what the unique selling point of this arc is--thanks to the Tournament of Power, it’s now actually possible to see otherwise fan-favorite-pipe-dream fights like Hit vs Golden Frieza or Toppo vs Mystic/Ultimate Gohan and more. As it’s already set that Goku will be fighting Jiren and that’s possibly the main event this Tournament is building towards, there are many more such exciting cross-Universe fights that can happen. And here are my personal picks of the three most exciting possible battles that can really turn up the heat in DB Supe

Thoughts on the Current Arc of Dragon Ball Super

The Universal Survival arc of DB Super is one of the best things to emerge from the anime and truly hits everything that Dragonball embodies--high stakes battles, emotional intrigue and tons of fan-favorite-dream moments (like the upcoming Goku and Hit team up). I personally feel that this saga could very well go on to become one of the greatest and most celebrated arcs in the history of Dragon Ball, up there with the likes of the Frieza saga and dare I say, the Cell saga. One of the reasons for the above mentioned bold claim is that this saga has something that we’ve never really seen from the series--moral ambiguity. In nearly every episode, we get a strong sense of moral disconnection that really announces the question--‘was all that fighting really worth the consequences, which is the destruction of billions of Lives?’. This element instantly puts this current arc to a refreshing new place that we’ve never seen in Dragon Ball. If you’ve been following the Univer

What the word 'Activism' really means

The word ‘Activism’ (and ‘Activist’) is another clever piece of subliminal social engineering at work. In a wider sense, the word means being upfront or vocal about something that impacts both society and Humanity at large or trying to change something for the better. But when a whole new term is used to describe some form of activity, it’s also implied that, albeit in a subtle way, that particular set of behavior falls outside of the ‘norm’, and therefore, is indirectly discouraged. When anyone says that he/she is an Activist, what’s being implied is that his/her actions are actually outside of the general flow of society. The society we live in just wants you to follow a particular set of rules (read activities), which, in relevant to our times is--work, earn, spend, work harder, earn more, consume more, get your social status up, rinse and repeat. Anything that’s outside of this narrow spectrum, is always mocked and discouraged, although in a pretty subtle way.

Why Mathematics Fails

Disclaimer: Before you start to think that this is just an angry rant on mathematics from someone who probably failed at it all his life, I assure you that it’s simply not true. Having a graduate degree from Computer Science and Engineering, I did my fair share of maths and passed through all of that. So to think that I have a grudge against Mathematics is objectively untrue. This article is much deeper than that. In this 21 st century where the whole world is obsessed with technology, mathematics has literally become the most widely used language in many fields of studies and higher education. To put it simply--maths is considered as the new universal language. And this has elevated mathematics from being just another tool for understanding the World (which all subjects actually are) to a new world view altogether. In many educated people’s minds, mathematics has literally become ingrained as the ‘correct’ way to think and approach reality. And coupled with th

The Best Live version of Comfortably Numb

Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb is undoubtedly one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed on the electric guitar. And if you’ve heard the studio version, it’s literally impossible to not get blown away by the myriads of live versions of the solo that Gilmour has played through the years (or decades). And the great thing about the live renditions is that each of them brings a distinctly characteristic feel to the solo--making all of them memorable and stand on their own, it’s almost like different takes on the original studio version. For example, the Delicate Sound of Thunder version has a darker and more tormented feel overall, there are parts of the solo where it’s unlike anything ever heard from Gilmour. This version is also the most ‘badass’ and raw version of the Comfortably Numb solo, which was how Gilmour played it during the Momentary Lapse tour in the late 80’s. And until Live in Gdansk came out, this was my favorite version of the solo. Also, Gilmour’s gu

The irrefutable proof of intelligent design

The fundamental question underlying all philosophy is the age old “why are we here” and that’s probably as old as the history of humanity itself. And there are two major worldviews regarding the answer to this--one is the belief that we and everything that we experience around us is the result of spontaneous, purposeless evolutionary impulse of the Universe. The other viewpoint is it’s opposite and tells us that we, as well as the entirety of this physical Universe, is the creation of a higher intelligence and we are all part of a grand cosmic journey. The former is also widely known as the ‘scientific’ worldview as it makes up literally most of the perspective of modern science. According to it, the Universe as we know it, came from a gigantic explosion and for some inexplicable reason, bursted into a living, physical reality. Also, the Universe is literally endless with an astronomical number of galaxies each having it’s own solar systems full of stars and planets. An

The most important thing in your Life--Part 3

Up until now, this article has mostly focused on who you are on a purely conceptual level. But now it's time to take a field trip and dive deeper within and learn how to access your true reality. As stated earlier, your inner reality constitutes of everything that happens within you—the thoughts you think, the emotions that you feel, the reactions that come out of you, all of this. And to get in touch with that means simply to be conscious of that and to know yourself as more than what goes on inside you (this part is explained later). So just become aware of everything that happens within you—listen to the voice (s) in your head, feel the energy of the emotions, observe your reactive patterns whenever they become triggered due to some outside events or by even your thoughts—just continue to watch all of this without putting any mental label on them. It means just allowing yourself to listen and feel whatever goes on within you. For example, if the voic
